Cookie policy

Every cookie we set, and why.

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep. Below is the full list of the ones we use. There is nothing else.

The full list

Cookies set by WageDefender, with purpose, lifetime, and whether your choice controls them.
Cookie nameWhat it doesHow long it lastsEssential or optional
sb-<project>-auth-tokenKeeps you signed in. Set by Supabase, the service that handles our sign-in. Without it you would be signed out on every page you open.Until you sign out, or until the session expiresEssential
wd_cookie_choiceRemembers whether you accepted or rejected the optional cookies, so we stop asking. This one is essential because it is the record of your choice. If we deleted it, we would lose your answer.180 daysEssential
wd_plan_intentRemembers which plan you clicked on before signing in, so the right plan is still selected when you arrive at checkout.24 hoursEssential
wd_attr_firstRecords the first source that brought you to the site, for example a search engine or a link in an article. We use it to understand which of our own efforts are working.180 daysOptional
wd_attr_lastRecords the most recent source that brought you to the site, for the same reason as above.180 daysOptional

The sign-in cookie name contains a project identifier in place of <project>, so the exact name you see in your browser will include a short string of letters and numbers.

What we do not do

  • We set no third-party advertising cookies.
  • We do not share the attribution cookies with an ad network or any other outside company.
  • We do not use them to build a profile of you or to follow you across other websites.
  • The attribution cookies do not store your IP address. They hold the source that referred you and nothing else.

Your choice, and how to change it

The first time you visit, a notice at the bottom of the page offers Accept and Reject. Both are the same size and sit side by side. Choosing Reject stops the optional cookies and clears any that were already set. Everything else on the site keeps working, including signing in.

To change your answer later, clear this site's cookies in your browser settings. That deletes the record of your choice, and the notice appears again on your next visit so you can choose the other way. Clearing cookies also signs you out, since the sign-in cookie goes with them.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or a browser extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we read it as a rejection automatically. You do not have to click anything, and the cookie notice does not appear.
